Life at at Julie Richardson Nursing Home

Every single resident here at Julie Richardson Nursing Home is encouraged to lead a varied, fulfilling life, with expert care on hand around the clock and all sorts of events, outings and activities to get involved in. With many of our residents from the Banbury area, our central location means they can maintain their independence, enjoy being part of the community and see local friends and family members.

This family-run home has a focus on wellbeing, satisfaction and dignity, along with a forward-thinking attitude – we’re constantly looking at how we can improve our residents’ lives, be it through training, pioneering projects or new activities, outings and entertainment. The family who own Julie Richardson Nursing Home are heavily involved in day-to-day goings-on and truly care about the quality of life provided to our residents, regularly engaging with them and their family members to ensure that the care provided meets the changing needs of those in our care.

Activities and entertainment galore

Our in-house activities team at Julie Richardson Nursing Home is here to ensure that life for our residents is as enjoyable and varied as possible. With input from our residents, our team creates a programme of group activities tailored to everyone’s likes and interests. With gardening, arts and crafts, reminiscence sessions and baking to get involved with, as well as visits from local nursery and schoolchildren, there’s something for everyone. We also make one-to-one sessions available to those unable to take part in group activities, so there’s still plenty to do and get involved in.

A variety of trips out and about

Our home is close to the centre of Banbury, which means we have a wide variety of options for outings and events right on our doorstep. As a large proportion of our residents have lived in the area for many years, we like to get involved in the community, and we arrange regular trips to the local shops and churches, which are always popular. A firm favourite is the annual Banbury Fair in the town centre, along with the canalside celebrations every autumn.

We don’t always stay in Banbury though, as we’re lucky enough to have all sorts of beautiful places in the surrounding towns and countryside. Our impressive programme of excursions throughout the warmer months sees us visit locations of interest, such as Broughton Castle, Upton House, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswold Wildlife Park to name a few. We believe that these trips allow our residents to enjoy the beautiful attractions around Banbury.
